Briefing places Spain protests in a reported cross-border network

Progressive International discussed demonstrations in Spain, France, India and Albania as Fox News mapped 101 groups it links to protests in 13 countries.

A Fox News Digital investigation by Asra Q. Nomani says it has identified 101 organisations across 13 countries that it alleges organise, coordinate or amplify protests. The report, titled Global 'Chaos Inc' grows to 101 groups with plans for new rounds of demonstrations, follows an earlier count of 50 organisations tied to student protests in France. That figure reportedly rose to 54 by October 19 before reaching 101.

Progressive International, one group highlighted in the investigation, discussed protests in France, Spain, India and Albania in an October 16 briefing. It raised questions about whether those movements could become organised political power able to change the conditions behind the unrest.

The investigation describes a transnational protest ecosystem of socialist and communist organisations, labour unions, student groups, advocacy networks and media platforms. It alleges that these groups circulate protest messages across borders and promote demonstrations that begin from different domestic issues. Shared messages and expressions of support do not by themselves show that the demonstrations are directed by one organisation.

Indian Alliance Paris, a France-based group of students, researchers and professionals, is cited as allegedly linking protest messaging in France and India. Fox News says it has promoted demonstrations in France while expressing solidarity with young protesters in India. A social media post cited in the report said, "to Gen Z: In France. In India. Bravo for today." In India, protests have included demonstrations against the Election Commission, with participants demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

A central figure in the investigation is Neville Roy Singham, an American-born technology entrepreneur living in Shanghai, whom the report associates with a network of communist and socialist groups. Fox News names BreakThrough News, CodePink and the Party for Socialism and Liberation among organisations it connects to that wider network, alleging they amplify protests through media, online campaigns and political messaging. BreakThrough News has reported on demonstrations in France and India as part of a broader movement against austerity and government policies.

The investigation also looks at Tricontinental, a research institute led by Vijay Prashad. On October 18, Prashad compared protests in Paris, New Delhi and Buenos Aires in a post on X, writing, "Paris-New Delhi-Buenos Aires," and then, "Let fury have the hour, anger can be power." Fox News treats these examples as signs of a network that shares political messaging and encourages mobilisation. How far the organisations coordinate operations directly remains a separate question.

According to an IANS report, the US House Ways and Means Committee subpoenaed BreakThrough News, Tricontinental and the People's Forum in July 2026, adding scrutiny to groups associated with Singham.

The inquiry began with student demonstrations in France over deteriorating school conditions, including staff shortages and inadequate facilities. Fox News argues that the protests later drew support from labour unions, political parties, socialist and communist organisations and advocacy groups with broader political aims. Being associated with a movement or amplifying its message does not necessarily mean an organisation directly coordinates demonstrations.

The report also points to further demonstrations planned in France for October 24 and a youth strike scheduled for November 20 across parts of Europe, which it says could give activist groups more chances to exchange messages and build international solidarity. It says further evidence beyond common slogans, media coverage and public support would be needed to determine whether the movements share a coordinated leadership.
